The CIFC is committed to assisting productions interested in filming in the Cayman Islands. Complete this form to help us help you regarding your potential shoot; for location guidance and destination information; production services and resources available, and to answer questions about filming in the Cayman Islands.
Process Overview
- Complete this form
- CIFC will contact the production team for further discussion on the proposed production or to answer any questions
- If the CIFC is satisfied that the project would pose no threat to the Cayman Islands brand, then the CIFC will share all relevant forms, which include but are not limited to:
- Media Production License:
The Media Production License form must be completed in its entirety and submitted for review. If the license does not receive approval, the production is unable to occur in the Cayman Islands. If approved, the CIFC then acts as the liaison for the production company to have a smooth arrival process; for working with our partners at the relevant Government authorities for required permitting; etc.
- Temporary Work Permit Application:
All production team members -- cast and crew-- are required to have a Temporary Work Permit to work in the Cayman Islands. The CIFC will provide the application form and liaise with the relevant Government entity for processing; each temporary work permit costs US$104 per person.
Please note that supporting documents are required to accompany the application, including but not limited to a passport-sized photo, police clearance from country of residence, and a copy of the picture page of a valid passport.
- Equipment Importation Notification Form:
This form must be completed for all film equipment coming into the Cayman Islands for an approved production, and accompanied by the global ATA carnet form. The CIFC will liaise with the relevant Government entity for processing and securing available duty waivers.
